SUNSET AND FLOATING CLOUDS

On our last day in Maui we decided to make the most of our time left by waking up at 3 am to make the long drive to Haleakala Crater.  It seems like a right of passage for any visitor coming to Maui to make the pilgrimage up to the top of the mountain.  It's even better if you go to watch the sunrise.  The drive up was simply spectacular.  As we neared 10,000 feet above sea level you start to go through fluffs of clouds and the temperature begins to drop drastically.  It was amazing standing in the shadows of the mountain watching the sun creep slowly among the clouds.  The sun rays change the clouds colors from dark blue to white pink in a matter of seconds.  It was an incredible show of colors.  After this experience I never want to miss another sunset again.  If only I didn't love sleeping so much.
