Back in December, my friend Dana and her husband were visiting from Toronto and she asked me if she could borrow my paddleboard. I immediately called up my dad and he was able to borrow a few more boards from his friend. Score! We spent the whole afternoon paddling back and forth Ala Moana beach. Whew, did my arms get a good work out. At one point, I saw a huge Hawaiian sea turtle (honu) swimming right below me! I just stared at it in awe as it passed by. Even though I've lived in Hawaii my whole life, I've never actually seen one swimming in the ocean before. It was such a surreal moment that I will never forget.
