The Nighblooming cereus in my backyard has finally bloomed! It only blooms once a year at nightfall, and by dawn it is already wilted. So if you don't have a careful watch, you could miss seeing this beautiful flower entirely. How sad would that be to wait another whole year. Only a couple of buds opened up last night, so there are still a few more that will blossom in the next couple of days. This time I'm going to try sit outside and watch them bloom in action if I can. Afterwards, if we're lucky it will produce some dragon fruits. I'm crossing my fingers they will come!
